Umpiring Course

Sunday 11th October at Southend Hockey Club (Belfairs)

Most of you are aware of the ever increasing requirement to provide level one umpires for all league hockey matches. Failure to provide qualified umpires will result in the forfeit of league points.

With this in mind the Club is encouraging members to take the necessary level one course and progress to qualification. The next course is being held at Southend HC on 11th October and all costs will be reimbursed by the Club.

Please let Andy Thorpe know asap if you would like to attend (or if you would like more details) and he will get a place arranged for you.

It should also be emphasised that getting qualified will not mean you miss any hockey - it merely means that you may occasionally be asked to umpire a game before or after the match which you were selected for.

Also bear in mind that all umpires are rewarded with a £10 fee for every game that they umpire.
