It is with sadness that I inform you all that Brian Clarke passed away peacefully last
Saturday evening at home with his family at his bedside.

As many of you will know, Brian coached our Under 9 youth players for a number of years and many of our older youth players as well. Indeed there are a number of Club members, both past and present, who will remember Brian with great affection for his kind but firm guidance in the basics of hockey.

Brian was the head of a hockey dynasty, with sons Dick and Kim, both top players in their day,  grandson Jonty, a current GB international, and not forgetting the remaining grandchildren who have played or do still play.

On behalf of all the members of the Club, both past and present, I should like to offer ur condolences and sympathy to Jean, Brain's wife and to all the family at this sad time.

The cremation will be held on Monday 15th June at Southend Crematorium at 12.20 p.m) for FAMILY ONLY.

There will be a Thanksgiving service afterwards at Christ Church, Warwick Road, Thorpe Bay to which all friends are welcome, followed by a reception in the adjacent church hall.

Family Flowers only please.

Collections at the Church are in aid of Talking Newspaper for the Blind.

Alternatively donations can be made to Prostate Cancer Research via F P Guivers Funeral Directors, Southchurch Road, Southchurch
